Cantonese Classes Saturdays, 9:30AM to 12:00PM (noon)
Tuition: $360/year ($310/year if enrolled on or prior to May 25, 2019)
* All fees include textbooks
   
Mandarin Classes Saturdays, 1:00PM to 3:30PM
Tuition: $360/year ($310/year if enrolled on or prior to May 25, 2019)

Youth/Adult Conversation Class
(Mandarin)

Conversation Program
(Mandarin)
Saturdays, 12:05PM to 12:50PM
Tuition: $220/year ($180/year if enrolled on or prior to May 25, 2019)

Notes: Payments by cash or cheque only.  No refund will be available after September 30, 2019.  A $100 handling fee will be deducted from tuition fee refund for students withdrawing on or prior to September 30, 2019.

Cantonese Language – Kindergarten to Grade 9

  • Designed for students with little or no background in Cantonese Language

  • Emphasis in four skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing

  • Taught in traditional Chinese character system, which is popular in Hong Kong and Taiwan

  • Cantonese has traditionally been the predominant Chinese dialect in Edmonton

  • Minimum age: 4

Mandarin Language Program - Kindergarten to Grade 6

  • Designed for students with little or no background in Mandarin Language

  • Emphasis in four skills – listening, speaking, reading, and writing

  • Taught in Simplified Chinese character system using Pinyin

  • Mandarin is the most spoken Chinese language in the world

  • Minimum age: 4

Conversation Program (Level I to III)

Taking advantage of a child's superior cognitive abilities, this Mandarin Conversation program aims to let children and teenagers learn Mandarin in the most effective fashion. The main focus is on Mandarin pronunciation and its underlying disciplines: reading, listening and speaking.

This program will help the Mandarin Program students to catch up and enhance their Chinese Studies.  Also help Cantonese Language Program students or those who only want to learn how to speak Mandarin. 

The whole curriculum is based on the vocabulary of the HSK test, which is the standardized testing system for Mandarin Chinese as a foreign language. Therefore, your children will also be perfectly equipped to take the HSK test should the need arise in the future.

Minimum age: 6 or Grade 1

Youth/Adult Conversation Class

This course discusses popular everyday topics and uses various verbal methods (discussions, presentations, debates, etc.) to provide students with the opportunity to learn and speak Chinese. Active participation is crucial to excelling in this class. With no written activities, the course focuses on listening and speaking skills, providing students a postive enviroment to converse in Chinese.

Course Features:

  • This course provides students with daily conversational skills and focuses on the learning of practical copncepts.

  • A practical introductory course suitable for beginners. Topics covered include daily life, banking, travel, etc.

Minimum age: 15 to adult
